Our clients are increasingly demanding complex bespoke software solutions and the integration of their business-critical IT systems with their digital marketing assets.

Since 2014 Reech has been at the vanguard of meeting these increasingly complex requirements, delivering projects that included the integration of Customer Relationship Management (CRM), stock inventory management and order processing systems, alongside standalone bespoke software solutions.

SHINGLER HOMES – MyHome

Reech designed and developed MyHome for Shingler Homes, one of Shropshire’s leading new homebuilders. An innovative new service that allows new home buyers to personalise their new home on a room-by-room basis, watch their home come to life via MyNews and keep all their buyer information in one place; a service that is designed to make the house buying process as stress free as possible.

Whilst an innovative bespoke software solution is at the heart of this project, fundamental to its success was scoping the user requirements and designing a user experience (UX) that was simple and engaging, core strengths of Reech across all of our digital projects.

The construction industry has made little progress with implementing the financial and customer service benefits delivered by the Internet, a trend Shingler Homes has addressed with the launch of its innovative new online service – MyHome.

In addition, the implementation of MyHome has allowed Shingler’s to streamline its internal processes (saving time and money!) whilst delivering an enhanced customer service, and additional revenue.

PROBLEM SOLVING...

Buying a new home is a complex and often stressful process, coupled with growing consumer expectations of convenience including access to services outside of standard working hours.

Research shows that stress in the home buying process is often attributed to poor communication, with the new homeowner valuing regular updates.  MyHome addresses this issue by giving the user a single point of online contact, and access to project updates.  Communication is no longer restricted to the opening times of the sales and marketing office as users can now make and share important decisions from the comfort of their sofa, at any time of the day.

In addition to customer service benefits, the launch of MyHome has improved internal processes, specifically reducing the level of admin.  Before the introduction of MyHome a new home buyer would spend a great deal of time with the sales coordinate who would talk through standard finishes and optional upgrades.

Whilst this face-to-face option remains, Shingler’s are finding increasingly that new homebuyers prefer to make these decision within their own time.  With homebuyers now making their selections online, the sales team are freed up to focus on securing new buyers and the paperwork is now generated within the MyHome system, saving considerable amounts of time. In additional, with all the paperwork secured online (in the same place) the number of mislaid documents has reduced dramatically.

Business Success...

The UK’s top homebuilders include Barratt, Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey, Bellway and Redrow.  Only Redrow has introduced a similar online service.  It is therefore clear to see that Shingler Homes is not only leading the way in Shropshire and the West Midlands but amongst the UK’s most recognised names in home building.

The success of this project is determined by its enhanced customer service offer; however, it has also delivered significant financial returns.  Shingler Homes latest new home development – Perry View, Baschurch – has seen just under £100,000 of additional revenue generated from fixture and fitting upgrades across just 13 new homes sold.  This is a significant uplift from previous developments prior to the launch of MyHome and now forms an important new income stream.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

The launch of MyHome, a bespoke software solution, gives Shingler’s a competitive service ‘edge’.  Its functionality which includes a secure account (accessed by login and password) stores all of the customer’s personal and home buying information in one place.  It includes a timeline tool for customers to track their home buying process, and an instant messaging service which facilities quick and easy communication.  It also allows users to ‘pick and choose’ interior fixture and fittings, and to personalise their new home.
